Mawa or mava cake is a popular Indian tea time snack,  Mawa is also called as Khoya a popular ingredient used for the preparation of a wide range of Indian sweets such as Barfi, Gulab jamun, Rasgulla, Chenna, sweet samosa and many more.

Mawa Cakes are a signature dish of Banglore Iyengar bakery.

Mawa cake is moist, dense, decadent & delicious it is very soft and is not overly sweet. A mawa cake can be prepared with or without eggs.
Today we’ll see an eggless version of the dish. It is easy to prepare it in a home it can be served as a quick bite, Evening snack or something you can enjoy in breakfast.
Diwali is around the corner prepare this dish and impress your guests on the auspicious occasion of Diwali.

The overall preparation takes up to 30 mins.

How to prepare mawa in Home?

To prepare mawa in Home you need simmer Milk in a hot Pan continuously and very slowly. In low flame, until all the liquids and Moisture gets evaporated. Once the milk solids remain in the pan remove your pan from the stove and mix it gently.

A perfectly made Mawa is very soft; the softness of mawa is a basic requirement of the dish.

You can also purchase it from your local sweets vendor or Dairy.

Ingredients:

*tbsp(Tablespoon)

100 gm Refined Flour

50 gm Mava

3 tbsp Powdered Sugar

70 gm Butter

100 gm Condensed Milk

¼ tsp Baking Powder

½ Cardamom Powder

2 tbsp Milk

How to prepare mawa cake in just 3 simple steps

Method:

In a bowl add 70 gm butter, 3 tbsp powdered sugar, 100 gm condensed milk & 50 gm mawa. Blend it well.

Add 100 gm refined flour, ¼ tsp baking powder, ½ tsp cardamom powder & 2 tbsp milk. Mix it well.

Do butter dusting and pour this mixture in small cake molds. Sprinkle some pistachio, Cashew, and almonds on it & bake at 160°c in a preheated oven for 15 minutes.

The eggs are optional you can add one egg to get a better texture of the cake.
